Lawanda “Jody” Benson, 60, of Graysville, TN passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025. Jody, as she was fondly known, was born in Florida with her family moving to the area when she was one year old, a life-long resident of the area who loved life, family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Jody was a lover of coffee and playing games.

Jody is preceded in death by her father and stepmother Bill and Mary White. She is survived by her loving husband of sixteen years, Michael Benson; mother, Iva Keener Beasley and her husband Don; her one an only son Justin Hughes; three sisters, Teresa Smith, Donna (Tom) Clark, and Vickie (James) Hicks; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Kendall, Haylee Hughes, and Aleah Hughes; and one great-grandchild, Annistyn Reign Hughes.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2025, at 2:00PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with the Pastor Tom Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Spivey Cemetery.
