ary Nell Shaver, age 90, passed away on August 7, 2025, at the Courtyard Hometown Senior Living Center in Dayton, Tennessee. Born on September 14, 1934, to Manuel and Dove Pritchett, she was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of Walden’s Ridge Baptist Church, where she faithfully lived out her love for God and service to others.

Mary Nell and her late husband, Edwin E. Shaver, were married in 1955 on the steps of Bethel Baptist Church in the Roddy Community. Together, they raised four hardworking sons and took great pride in supporting and encouraging them throughout their lives.

Mary Nell cherished her faith, her family, and her church. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially caring for her flowers and spending time in her garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Edwin; her sisters, Jo Pearl Henderson and Debbie Reed; and her brother, Carl Pritchett.

She is survived by her sons: Eddie (Joyce) Shaver, Jerry (Edie) Shaver, Steve (Gina) Shaver, and Ted (Rhonda) Shaver; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Ray Pritchett and Jonas Pritchett, and her sister Jackie (Eddie) Reed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Harwood officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM, until the time of service.
