Eagles Open Season At Home vs Kingston

Evensville, TN

Rhea County Middle School recently held Media Day as they move toward opening night at home vs Kingston. The schedule includes home games vs local rivals McMinn, Spring City and Dayton City School.

The team presently has 45 players on roster, including sixteen 8th graders.

Coach Roy Guthrie talked about the upcoming season.

"We have several retruning players who will lead us. We have a lot of youth that should help us. We are a very young team."

"8th graders Jaxon Nelson, Jasper Andoin, Devin Massengale and Bently Singleton should provide leadership for the team."

"We have a large 6th grade class this year with 20 players and some will contribute this year. We have 16 8th graders."

Xavier Abernathy(offensive coordinator), Ethan Robinson(line coach) and Barrett Chance will assist me this year. I will be the defensive coordinator."
