Carla Sue Clark, 67, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Parkridge Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born on November 15, 1957, in Birmingham, Alabama, Carla was the daughter of the late Truman and Margaret Morgan Flowers. She moved to Dayton with her family fifty years ago and remained a beloved part of the community ever since.
Carla was of the Baptist faith and was known for her deep compassion and unwavering belief in the good in others. Her heart was as open as her smile—kind, warm, and full of love. She had a passion for horses, motorcycles, fishing, and flowers, and her joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Carla is survived by her children, Elizabeth Ann Maynor, Jennifer Lynn Maynor, and Richard Shane (Chasity Evett) Maynor; her sister, Anita Savage; two brothers, Jimmy (Bonnie) Flowers and Gary (Shawn) Flowers; five grandchildren, Truman, John, Britney, Shana, and Kyre; and eight great-grandchildren, Memphis, Knox, Wilder, Branson, Avery, Kaleb, Karson, and Kolsen. She is also remembered fondly by her close friend Pocahontas and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Rigsby Cemetery with Minister Heather Bean officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM that same day, prior to the service.
Carla’s legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
