Rhea County Baseball Drops Game Vs Mustangs

Rhea Count hosted Walker Valley on Tuesday, 4/1/25 in Evensville, Tennessee. Alex Latshaw pitched 5 2/3 innings as starter for Rhea County and Titus Torbett Pitchedfor Walker Valley. Torbett pitched a 6 hitter, giving up 1 unearned run, and struck out 13 while surrendering 0 walks. Latshaw pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs. Dakota Kilby pitched 1 1/3 inning of no-hit relief.

The Eagles scored in the bottom of the 5th to take a 1-0 lead in the game. Schmitt hit a ground ball and gained first base on an error. Schmitt scored on a ground ball hit by Williams. In the top of the 6th inning, Walker took the lead with 2 runs, scoring both runs with 2 outs. Stone singled for Walker to move Owenby, who had walked earlier in the inning, over to third base. Turnbough hit a ground ball that was not fielded cleanly, allowing Ownby to score and Stone to move to 2nd base. Harrison then singled to score Knouse, who was pinch running for Turnbough. The Eagles got the third out of the inning to close out the scoring. Rhea counted a threat in the bottom of the 6th inning with Butler singing and Shaver arriving on hit batsman, but Eagles were unable to plate the runners. The Eagles went 3 up and 3 out to finish the game.
