Gala Coming to "The Trinity Chapel" on April 22, 2023 at 6:30 pm
Dayton, TN -- Step back in time for a fun-filled evening celebrating the glamor of 1920’s Hollywood Red Carpet at the second annual Heritage Gala, presented by the Rhea Heritage Preservation Foundation April 22.
Event coordinator Dorothy Anderson said all food, drinks, entertainment and attire will be inspired by the 1920’s, and Trinity Chapel will be transformed into a star-studded Hollywood awards gala.
“Scenic City Sound will be on hand to provide some wonderful Jazz and swing sounds of the era” she said. “This Chattanooga-based band is in high demand in the surrounding area. The smooth and sultry sounds of vocalist Terri Hall will make you believe you are back in the age of silent movies and the speakeasy.”
Special guest for the event will be Tyler Boyd, author of the recently published book Nellie Kenyon: Trailblazing Tennessee Journalist. Nellie Kenyon received press pass No. 1 to cover the Scopes Trial, and convinced the county judge (the 1925 counterpart to today’s county executive) to spruce up the courtroom before the trial.
Ticket for the Gala are available on the Rhea Heritage Preservation Foundation website, www.rheaheritage.com/heritage-gala. Proceeds from the event are designated to support the Foundation’s celebration of the Scopes Trial centennial in 2025.
