Bulldogs Get Wins On Road and At Home vs Lenoir City

Spring City, TN -- Spring City Middle School baseball opened their 2022 season with a couple of lopsided wins over Lenoir City. After a 10-1 win on the road the Bulldogs opened their home season with a 16-1 win.

At Lenoir City, Spring City scored four runs in top of first to take 4-0 lead. Tyler Lee was on the mound for the Bulldogs. SCMS followed with a five run second inning and finished with a single run in third inning for the win. Tyler Lee gave up one run and four hits while striking out seven. Spring City had seven hits in the game with Tyler Lee and Brady Williams each collecting two hits. Lee led the Bulldogs with three runs in the game.

At home the Bulldogs opened with four run first inning. A big third inning nine run burst put the game out of doubt. Seven different players scored runs for Bulldogs and eight straight players were able to get on base and score. Finally in third inning, Bulldogs scored last two runs to end the game 16-1. The top three players for Spring City received 7 of the 15 walks issued by Lenoir City and were on base in 11 of 12 opportunities.. Bulldogs had seven hits on the night. Getting hits were Jim Cunningham, Jack Simmons, Tyler Garrison, Tay Sharp, Mack Chattin, Teed Cunningham, and Chayce Smith. Bulldogs will travel to Midway for a 6 pm game on Monday, March 7, 2022.
