Noelle Clark is one of 15 Competitors for 2020 Distinguished Young Woman

Dayton, TN -- Noelle Clark is one of 15 competitors who will be competing for the title of Distinguished Young Woman of Rhea County for 2020. She and her other competiors will be doing their competition without friends, family or audience in attendance, due to covid-19 safeguard restrictions. Noelle is the daughter of Shane and Melissa Clark. Her siblings are Jacob, Emilee and Alaina Clark. She attended Cecil B. Rigsby Elementary School and Dayton City School before attending Rhea County High School.
Noelle answered a few questions before she competed in the DYW.
Who was your favorite teacher during your school years?
"Jill Land, my sixth grade history teacher at Dayton City School."
What is your talent for the DYW Program?
"I will be singing “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” by Tori Kelli. I have been singing since I was 5 years old."
What part of the program you are most nervous about?
"I am most nervous about the fitness portion."
Have you done anything similar to this before?
"I have done a few talent competitions."
Do you have friends who have done the program?
"My cousin, Lauren Clark, did the program."
What are your career plans after high school?
"I plan to attend Lee University and major in Nursing. Then, I plan to go on and become a Family Nurse Practitioner."
Do you have a favorite Bible verse or quote?
"My favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28 which says, “All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
How has COVID-19 impacted your school year and home life?
"COVID-19 has impacted my school year by canceling prom and causing me to miss out on several educational events. It has affected my home life by making me do more house and yard work, but it ultimately has allowed me to spend more time with my family."
How disappointed to lose the chance for live performance before audience at DYW?
"I’m pretty disappointed about not having a live audience at DYW this year. I was really looking forward to my parents, siblings, and grandparents to see our performance and how hard we’ve worked."
What are your hobbies or interests, outside of school?
"I love to sing, play the piano, read books, draw, and paint. I also love to play with my dogs and spend time with my brother and sisters."
