William Douglas Goode, 74, of Graysville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.
Born on May 6, 1951, William was the son of the late Ernest and Evelyn Allen. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Diane Allen, Lois Goode, and Linda Hicks.
William lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a true friend to many. He shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Catherine. His greatest joys were his family, the outdoors, and sharing stories. He had a passion for fishing and hunting and was known for his rich storytelling and sharp sense of humor. He spent much of his working life as a tractor-trailer driver—a job that took him to many places and suited his independent spirit.
William is survived by his children: Anthony Goode of Sevierville, TN; Amanda Luis-Carrillo and her husband, Edwin Luis-Carrillo, of Graysville, TN; and Lisa Alston of Athens, TN.
He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Katelyn Alston and Alexia Huddleston, both of Dayton, TN; Angelina Carrillo and Alejandro Luis-Carrillo, both of Graysville, TN. He was also a great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren: Skylar Reynolds and Macie Reynolds, both of Graysville, TN.
A funeral service to celebrate William’s life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton, TN, with Reverend Mitchell Allen of Farner, TN, officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Following the service, William will be laid to rest at Liberty Community Cemetery in Murphy, North Carolina, where a brief prayer service will be held.
William’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—through his stories, his laughter, and the deep love he gave so freely.
