Kevin Rothwell, Lillee Hunt and Rebecca Rogers Advance

Cookeville, Tn -- Rhea County High School Golf team advanced three players to region play next week in Cleveland, Tennessee. Lilli Hunt, Rebeccca Rogers and Kevin Rothwell advance. Rhea County boys' team finishes 6th and girls' team finishes 4th. The top 3 teams advance and the top 5 individuals not on one of top 3 teams.
Lillee Hunt really stepped up and advances to her 1st region tournament as a lady eagle golfer. Lillee was tied with 2 other CCHS Lady Jet players with a playoff sudden death hole .
There were 3 golfers in the sudden death hole, Lillee and 2 Lady Jet players , 2 of the 3 advancing to the region. With the 2 Lady Jets teeing off first and in trouble areas on the par 3 10th hole, Lillee stepped to the tee and hit a solid hybrid club just short of the green. Lillee then went onto to put her 2nd shot within 4 feet and finishing up her playoff hole victory and advancing. She won the hole with a solid par! Lillee advances and one of the Lady Jets playing with her as well.

Kevin had a solid day! On any other day 71 (one over par ) he would have won the tournament. Kevin shot a 3 over (39) on the front with 1 birdie on number no.5 a par 3. Kevin then went onto shoot 2 under (32) on his back nine with 3 birdies .
