Bulldogs Wins Over Jefferson and Lenoir City at Home: Take on Clinton Away

Spring City Middle School Football has begun the 2023 season well. Bulldogs opened against Jefferson City with a 44-7 win, powered by the bruising running game and clamp-down defense. Gavyn Crowe and Bodie Marchetti each gave Bulldogs a big advantage on the ground. Rhett Robertson picked up "Player of the Game". Defense was obviously very good.  

Bulldogs hosted Lenoir City Middle for their second game and things looked a little different early as Lenoir came down and completed a long drive with a touchdown to take the early lead. Crowe and Marchetti lead Bulldogs down the field on the ground and Jayden Fitzgerald makes the short quarterback sneak for the Bulldogs first touchdown. Machetti ran in the 2-point conversion.

Bulldogs made the stop of Lenoir around midfield, forcing a punt. Crowe made the long touchdown run shortly after and Fitzgerald found Rhett Robertson all alone in the end zone for a 2 point conversion and the 16-6 lead. Lenoir put together a nice drive and was inside the Bulldogs red zone with time running out in half when Trenton Ellis stepped in front of a Lenoir City pass and streaked down the sidelines for an 85 yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 24-6 lead at halftime. Spring City outscored Lenoir the second half 6-0 for the final 30-6 score. Trenton Ellis was named Player of the Week sponsored by Jeromy Hixson and Farm Bureau Insurance.

On Thursday, August 17th, the Bulldogs will travel to Clinton for a game against Clinton Middle School Hawks. Clinto is coming off a win over Loudon last week by a 10-6 score.
