Martin Scores 21 Second-Half Points for Eagles

Evensville, TN -- Rhea County hosted East Ridge in their third game in the "Hall of Fame" basketball tournament they were hosting. Eagles had led most of game and went into 4th quarter with 48-41 lead., but East Ridge quickly pulled within 48-45 with 7:14 left in game, and they were hanging at 52-47 with 6;52 left in 4th, when Kaleb Martin took control of game with two consecutive 3-point baskets from essentially the same spot on the right elbow and in next possession down the court, Caleb Carr rebounded a Stumbo miss and feed Martin of the other side of the court and he canned another 3 to push the Eagle lead to 62-47 lead with 4:47 left in 4th to hit 3 long range baskets in 2 minutes. Eagles were never really threatened from there on as they pushed their record to 2-1 with the 71-58 win. Earlier in the day the Eagles dropped their Signal Mountain game 71-53. Martin finished with 26 points to go with his 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Martin went 5 for 6 from 3-point range on the night and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Caleb Carr also finished in double digits for the Eagles with 16 points and 9 rebounds on the night. Also scoring for Eagles were Howard(8), Smith(7) and Norman(6). Eagles as a team went 9 for 16 from 3-point range, 14-28 from 2-point range and 16 of 21 from the free-throw line. Senior Tyre Smith led East Ridge with 23 points.

Kaleb Martin with 19 points led the Eagles against Signal Mountain and Sean Norman added 9 points.
