Lady Eagles Will Play Ocoee Middle in Championship

Evensville, TN --  Rhea Middle School opened the district tournament with 8-1 win over Spring City Middle on Tuesday night and advance to play Ocoee Middle on Wednesday, September 30 at 6 pm at Rhea Middle School's on campus field.  The Lady Eagles came into the fourth inning down 1-0 but used a seven run inning to change the script and they went on to win 8-1 in five innings.  In the fourth inning, Allie Shaver lead off with double.  Brook Tallent singled and later Shaver scored on a throw down to second base.  Paisley Wilson and Cali Milchak walked and then Lady Bulldogs were able to set down the next two batters on strike outs.  That brought up leadoff batter Lakyn Lockhart, who singled.  Ashlyn Futrell walked before Neylee Poole singled and that setup Allie Shaver for her second bat of the inning.  Shaver delivered a long drive over third base that brought in three runs.  Lady Bulldogs got out of the inning, but Rhea Middle held the Lady Bulldogs and scored one more run to put final score at 8-1.

Allie Shaver was also big on the mound with 5 strong innings.  She gave up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk.  She struck out 8 Lady Bulldogs on the night.  Kharma Swafford, Natalee Hankins, Liberty Swafford and Jenna Burchard had singles for Spring City Middle School.
