Rhea County Soccer Opens with 9-0 Win

Lady Eagles Win Over Bledsoe with 7 Different Scorers

Evensville, TN -- Rhea County opened the 2021 season in good form with an 9-0 win over visiting Bledsoe on a beautiful night to play soccer. Rainy weather stopped just in time for nice weather to play the game. Lady Eagles scored several early goals to take a 5-0 lead by the 16:20 mark of the first half. Shaylie Needham got the Lady Eagles on the board with first goal at 33:16 mark. Over the next 16 minutes, Rhea County scored four more goals with Abigail Ives, Baily Brown, Savannah Tilley and Sophie White finding the back of the net.

Bailey Brown scored her second goal before Laurel Butt added two consecutive goals before Michaela Reeves added the final goal for a 9-0 score that brought the game to an early end. Defense and goal keep played well to keep Bledsoe out of the net. Coach Bradley had an opportunity to play a lot of players in this game.

Now the Lady Eagles move on to weekend action in the Smokey Mountain Cup held at Rocky Top Sports World in Gatlinbburg Tennessee on August 20-22, 2021. The Lady Eagles open action against Knoxville Central High School at 6:50 pm on Friday, August 20th. The will also face Madisonville North Hopkins out of Kentucky on Saturday at 6:10 pm and then on Sunday, they face Dickson County High School at 12:40 pm. Lady Eagles return home to play Sale Creek on Tuesday, August 24th with 7 pm start time.
