Law enforcement awards presented for displaying an exemplary stand against Animal Cruelty

February 5, 2020 Evensville, TN --  The Humane Society of the United States is proud to honor Rhea County Officer Cheyenne Swafford with a Humane Law Enforcement Award for 2019 for her amazing work and steadfast commitment to animal protection. The Humane Society of the United States is privileged to work with the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to making our communities safer. To that end, they partner with law enforcement officials across the country on a wide array of investigations, trainings, and legislation. Their work with law enforcement officials touches upon the entire spectrum of the justice system, from Sheriffs to prosecutors to Attorney Generals’ offices. The recipients of the 2019 Humane Law Enforcement Awards include officers who have taken an exemplary stand against animal cruelty and represent the very best in the field. The HSUS works diligently to enact laws that protect all animals, and this work is meaningful only with the strong support of law enforcement. “I’ve seen Cheyenne’s work first-hand and she does an amazing job,” said Eric Swafford, Tennessee Sr. State Director for the HSUS. “She goes above and beyond the call of duty to help Rhea County and even the surrounding areas.
