Anglers Plant 500 Trees Thanks to TWRA Grant

Spring City, TN -- The Rhea County Eagle Anglers recently participated in a community project in Spring City. The anglers meet at the recently constructed dock just off Toestring Road in Spring City. They anglers along with coaches and board members had the opportunity to plant 500 cypress trees that they received from TWRA via a Grant. There are 34 anglers on the team this year, with eight high school teams and nine junior teams.
Angie Hester, the treasurer for the Rhea County Anglers shared some information about the community event.
Anglie said, "Our team is out here today planting cyprus trees that we got from grant at TWRA. We have 500 of these trees and we will be planting them at the new ramp in Spring City and also well plant some at Jackson Island."
"These kids are out here in the cold weather. They are eager to be here. This project will provide opportunity to get in community service hours."
"They may not see much from their efforts today, but their children and grand children will benefit from this going forward."
