Winter Guard Competes at First of Five Competitions for 2022

Jefferson County, TN -- The 2022 RCHS Winter Guard opened the season with a win in competition held on January 29, 2022 at Jefferson County High School. The team competed with 8 other teams in the novice division. The teams are graded on several categories. , The team has been promoted to the next level of competition, the SRA(Senior Regional A) and will compete at that level in future competitions.

The team will next perform at Seymour High School on Saturday, February 12, 2022 and at present then have 2 more competitions this year before championships to be held in April at Karns High School.

This is the first time the RCHS Winter Guard has competed since 2019. Only two members of the team have competed in Winter Guard previously. Ansley Thedford and Hannah Brock, competed as Freshman. Coaching the team this year is Andrea Watson and Teresa Sessions. Captains for the team are Samantha Green, Ansley Thedford and Justine Thurman.

At present the team is scheduled to compete on Saturday 12, 2022 at Seymour High School, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Gibbs High School in Knoxville, Tennessee and on March 26, 2022 at Heritage High School, in Maryville, Tennessee before the April 2, 2022 ETPAA Championships held at Karns High School, Knoxville, Tennessee.
