Lady Eagles Finish Second to Cookeville at District Tournament

Cookeville, TN -- Rhea County earned a spot in the District 3A District 6 Tournament Championship with good win against Soddy the night before. Cookeville was just too good on this night and took the championship with three straight wins.

Rhea County advanced in tournament play and will travel to Cleveland for Monday night match against Cleveland with 6 pm start time scheduled.

Head coach Stephanie Burgiss said, " We did well. We played together better than we had all season. We were encouraging and truly worked as a team. Against Soddy, there was nothing negative to be said about our performance. Our blocks were there, our passes were on point, and energy was up. If we keep our energy up, I think we will do well in the regions."
