Heritage Wins 7-2 Over Rhea; Hayes limits Lady Eagles to 3 hits in Win

3/16/24 Maryville, TN -- Rhea County High School Softball lost 7-2 at Heritage on Saturday, 3/18/24. Heritage opened with a run in the bottom of first for 1-0 lead which Lady Eagles answered in the top of the second. Heritage broke open the game in the 2nd with 4 runs for the 5-1 lead. The Eagles only managed one more run in the 5th before Heritage added 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th. Shaver took the loss for the Lady Eagles, giving up 5 runs in 3 innings of work. Reel gave up 2 runs in 3 innings.

Raymer and Ruehling scored for the Lady Eagles, Heritage had 11 hits and 7 runs with Wheelon leading the way with 3 hits and 2 rbi. Hayes pitched 7 innings of 3 hit ball, giving up 2 runs and 2 walks, while striking out 12. Hicks had a home run for Heritage.
