Lady Eagles Run Record to 7-4
Evensville, TN -- Eagles win over Soddy Daisy 5-2, puts Rhea County in good position for stretch run as Lady Eagles look to position for first round seeding. Last year Soddy ended the Lady Eagles season in post season play, so this was an emotional win for Rhea County.
Rhea County continues to play well despite the loss to injury of two of their top players in Mckinna Quick and Hannah Deakins. Tori Mitchell played excellent game for the Lady Eagles. Hailey Corvin opened the scoring for Rhea County with penalty kick with 36;26 on the clock. Tori Mitchell scored with 28:20 and at 24:40. Michaela Reeves and Sophie White added the other two goals with assists from Shaylee Needham and Tori Mitchell with 14.51 and 4.51 on the clock.
Mallory Hampton had busy night in net with fourteen shots on goal and eight saves. She played well in previous games at CSAS with a lot of saves in the Lady Eagles win.
Lady Eagles are on the road Thursday at Cleveland with junior varsity at 5 pm and varsity at 7 pm.
Coach Katherine Bradley talked after the game about her first season as head coach.
Coach Bradley said, "I think we are about where I had hoped it would be thus far in the season. After losing our two best scorers, I was a little concerned, but after team's performance in the the first couple of games, I felt better about the season."
"As head coach, you feel more responsibiltiy. It has been great having Justin on sidelines to help."
