Eagles Will Host McMinn on 4/26/24 On Senior Night
Evensville, TN -- 4/23/24 -- Rhea County Eagle’s Men’s Soccer Team faced off at home Tuesday night, April 23rd, vs. Cumberland County Jets at 7:30pm. The Eagles had a full roster, no injuries, for the first time in over a month, so the excitement to play was palpable. The Eagles and Jets both struggled to distribute the ball and finish offensive runs in the first half, so the score was 0-0 at halftime. The second half saw a lot of the same action, but the Jets managed to find the back of the net in the 18th minute, putting them ahead 1-0. The Eagles kept trying to battle back to tie up the score, but a foul called in the 18 box in the last 10 minutes of the game put a damper on those plans. Despite a diving attempt by Wes Robinson, the PK still found the upper corner of the net, Jets up 2-0. The Eagles did not give up and kept up the pressure but, unfortunately, ended the game scoreless. Eagles’ record now stands at 6-6-1 with their next match scheduled for April 26th at 7pm. Friday will also be another full night of soccer with RMS boy’s soccer championship game vs. Cleveland Raiders at 5pm and then senior night recognition will follow the RCHS Eagles’s district game vs. McMinn to determine which team will finish in third or fourth place for the season.
