RCHS Senior Wilson Signs With TWC

Courtney Wilson Will Play Softball At Tennessee Wesleyan

Evensville, TN -- RCHS senior Courtney Wilson signed to play softball and attend Tennessee Wesleyan University with ceremony on Friday, January 28, 2022. Courtney is the daughter of Curt and Tonya Wilson. Wilson was recruited to play catcher at TWC, a position she played in travel softball. Wilson has been very productive player at Rhea County High School, playing for coach Mathis at Rhea County High School. Courtney will be playing softball for Toby Brooks, who is in his 19th season at TWC. She will also be reunited with Leah Thompson, who coached Courtney in Middle School.

RCHS Athletic Director said, "She is the kind of athlete you want to see. Courtney's academics are very good. If all our students were like her, it would be an easy job."

RCHS Softball coach Randy Mathis said, "She is a team player who can hit for power and average. She can play anywhere, including on the mound."

TWC assistant coach Leah Thompson said, "Her biggest talent is her ability to play anywhere. We are looking at her to play catcher. She is committed and plays hard."


Courtney said, "When I went to visit(Tennessee Wesleyan) it really felt like home and great family. I am looking at going into the education field."
