Obituary for Yosyf Kiryk

April 17, 1940 - April 13, 2024

Yosyf Kiryk, age 83 of Nolensville, TN, and formerly of Evensville, TN, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. He was born on April 17, 1940, in Brody, Ukraine, the son of the late Myron and Olga (Bezenaru) Kiryk.

Yosyf was born and raised in the city of Brody in Western Ukraine. After graduating from high school, he served for two years in the Ukrainian Soviet Union Armed Force. He then moved to Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, where he received a Masters of Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute and met his wife, Nadiya. Together they moved to Lviv, Ukraine, where they started a family and raised their children. In Lviv, Yosyf served as the Lead Electric Engineer for the Lviv Oblast. In retirement Yosyf and his wife moved to Knoxville, TN, to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. After the grandkids grew up, they once again moved to the outskirts of Knoxville in Evensville, TN, where they led a quiet life on a farm. In the last years of his life, Yosyf and his wife relocated to Nolensville, TN, to help welcome and raise their great-grandchildren.

Yosyf is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nadiya (Tyndyk) Kiryk; his loving children, Ulyana (Charles) Adams and Taras (Oksana) Kiryk; cherished grandchildren, Helen (Daniel) Ashe, Charles (fiancé Cheri) Adams, Julia Adams, Nazar Kiryk, and Solomiya Kiryk; and his two beautiful great-grandchildren, Audrey Ashe and George Ashe.

A Gathering Time to remember Yosyf will be in the funeral home parlor on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Ukraine.
