Obituary for William Harold Rogers

June 14, 1949 - February 10, 2024

William “Harold” Rogers, age 74 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 10, 2024. He was born in Rhea County on June 14, 1949, the son of the late Irene (Morgan) Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Mae Dowden, Myrtle Goss, and Sandra Douglas and his brother, Jimmy Rogers.

Harold lived in Rhea County all of his life. He served his country in the US Marine Corps in Viet Nam, received two Purple Hearts, and was a disabled vet. He was employed by TVA at Sequoyah and Watts Bar nuclear plants, and he later became a commercial construction carpenter. He enjoyed gardening.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Karen (Martin) Hernandez of Sweetwater; his granddaughter, Brittany (Brad) Creasman of Dayton; his two great-grandchildren, Zadie Creasman and Wren Creasman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Harold will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Glacier officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Rhea Memory Gardens after the service.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, TN, where they will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, after 12:00 noon.
