Obituary for Levern Owen

December 2, 1938 - March 21, 2024

Levern Owen, age 85 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation of Spring City. He was born in Jasper, AL on December 2, 1938, the son of the late William Mont Owen and Ella (Gunter) Owen.

Levern lived in Jasper, AL for many years before moving to Dayton in 2018. He served his country in the US Army and Army National Guard, serving in Germany and Viet Nam, retiring as a Sergeant. Levern enjoyed auto mechanics and carpentry.

The Owen family has honorably served our country for generations including the Civil War, Spanish American War, WW I, WW II, Korean War, Viet Nam and in Afghanistan.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Carl) Romine of Cordova, AL; his two brothers, Melvin Owen of Pikeville, and Roy Rogers (Amelia) Owen of San Angelo, TX; his two grandsons; and numerous nephews and nieces, including Jamie Owens of Rhea County, and Ann Patrick (Daniel) Siefert of Richmond, CA.

Funeral services for Levern will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Doyle Ashburn officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Rhea Memory Cemetery.
