Obituary for Dave Moseley

September 21, 1942 - April 9, 2024

Ray Davis “Dave” Moseley, age 81 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at NHC HealthCare Sequatchie in Dunlap. He was born in Montgomery, AL on September 21, 1942, the son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Goudelocke) Moseley. He was also recently preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Moseley Tran.

Dave lived in Dayton since 2010, previously living in Selma, Birmingham, and Gadsden, AL, Nashville, Savannah, GA and Chattahoochee, FL. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master’s degree in hospital administration. He served his country in the Air National Guard. He worked as a hospital administrator, an insurance agent and as a senior health service administrator of a correctional facility. He was a member of Grace Bible Church.

Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy (Solley) Moseley of Dayton; his son, Ben (Kelley) Moseley of Crawfordville, FL; his two daughters, April Moseley of Chattanooga, and Kristi Chandler of Dayton; his son-in-law, Fred Tran of Dayton; his seven grandchildren, Abby and Logan Chandler, Payton, Griffin, and Kamdyn Moseley, Amanda (fiancé Zach Travis) Tran, and Kayla (fiancé Cole Hagan) Tran; and his four great-grandchildren, Emery, Raven, Kyrie, and Casper Smith.

Funeral services for Dave will be at Grace Bible Church in Dayton on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Dave Hobbs officiating. He will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. He will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens.
