John “Dale” Powell, age 55 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home. He was born in Allegheny County, PA, on December 7, 1968, the son of John Russell Powell and the late Sharon Ann (Hillman) Powell.

Dale lived in Dayton for the past five years, he was previously from Ellijay, GA. Dale loved carpentry and working with his hands. He attended First Baptist Church in Dayton.

In addition to his father, John Russell Powell of Bridgeville, PA, Dale is survived by his wife, Peggy Powell of Dunlap; his two daughters, Sharron Powell of Dunlap, and Lyndzee (Tim Riggs) Powell of Athens; his sister, Lynn Tschudi of Salem, OR; his two grandchildren Kenneth Zane and Madelin Faye Riggs, both of Athens, TN; his step-son, Nathan (Heather) Bates of Pittsboro, IN; and his step-daughter, Rachael (Zach) Pursifull of Indianapolis, IN.

A celebration of life for Dale is planned for a later date.
