John Aldridge Obituary

April 5, 1942 ~ May 18, 2025 

John was a longtime resident of Rhea County, originally from Alexandria, IN and of the Baptist Faith. He worked several years in the nuclear power field as senior quality control, then went on to retire from Rogers Group. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved his family very much.

He voluntarily enlisted in the US Army in 1961 serving 3 years, reaching the rank of USAR Control Group Weapons Operation Level VI before retiring in 1964.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Janet Aldridge; his parents Ebal & Monzella Aldridge, step-mother Mary Wisehart Aldridge, and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughters Jamie (Kenny) Kilby of Dayton, TN and Jennifer Vaughn of Pikeville, TN; sisters in law Ruthanne Voyles of Anderson, IN and Judy (Mike) McQuilling of Russiaville, IN; sister Mary Raymore of Holly Springs, NC; 7 grandkids: Ashley (Kyle) Johnson, Derek Lanier, Dakota Kilby, Bailey Kilby, Brittany (Tony Vestal) Bookholt, Kyle (Masie) Vaughn, & Shane Vaughn; 10 great-grandkids, several nieces and nephews, and his best companion, his little dog, Boots.

Family will receive friends Wednesday May 21st from 10am-12pm with the service following officiated by Pastor Aaron Revis at the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.

Interment will be on Wednesday May 21st at 2pm at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN with military honors.
