Jim Reed age 67 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton.
He was born on December 13, 1956 and was a lifetime resident of this area. Jim attended Spring City High School. He joined the U.S. Army, then later the Army National Guard and served for 26 years. After being discharged from the military, Jim worked in construction and retired from La-Z-Boy Corporation. He enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing, and wrestling. Jim was of the Baptist faith.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Wayne Reed, mother of his children Tina Brown, his sisters Carolyn Barnett and Diane Brown, and his grandson Kane St. Pierre.
Survivors include his mother Joyce Hamill of Spring City, Tennessee; his children Heather Billingsley of Bakewell, Tennessee, Richard (Heidi) Reed of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Amanda Formby of Knoxville, Tennessee; his brothers Tim Reed of Spring City, Tennessee and Johnny Reed of Evensville, Tennessee; and his four grandchildren Drake, Brittany, Tucker, and Payton.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Martin officiating. His ashes will be buried at a later date. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
