James Elvin Miles Jr., age 75 of Dayton Mountain, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, in Graysville. He was born in Oakland, CA on July 27, 1949, the son of the late James Elvin Miles Sr. and Ruth Alene Price.

James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. He lived in Fresno, CA before moving to Dayton Mountain in 2016. He was employed as a residential painter, and was of Messianic-Jewish faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Miles of Graysville; his son-in-law, Jefersson Caro Medina of Graysville; his granddaughter, Terra Lee Simpson of Dayton; and his grandson, Luke Miles Caro of Graysville.

A graveside funeral service for James will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. with Dr. Ray Legg officiating.
