Eddie Ray Montgomery, Sr., a lifetime resident of Rhea County, age 73, passed away March 29, 2024 in Dayton, TN.  He was born September 8, 1950, in Oneida, TN, to Roscoe Lee and Edna (Acres) Montgomery. He worked as a pipefitter/welder for TVA until his retirement at age 52.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Gunter) Montgomery; parents, Roscoe and Edna Montgomery; son, Eddie Ray Montgomery, Jr; and two brothers, Doyle and Mac Montgomery.

Eddie is survived by his two children, Becky (Jeff) Marshall, and Edie Alexander (David Rice) of Dayton, TN; sister, Sandy Calbaugh, of Dayton; two brothers, Tommy (Carol) Montgomery, of Dayton and Dean (Kathy) Carr, of Wildwood, GA; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
