Dalton Hampton Scores 3 Touchdowns to lead the Eagles to 38-14 Win

October 16, 2020 Soddy Daisy, TN --  Rhea County High School won 38-14 over Soddy Daisy on the road on Friday night to run their record to 8-0 on the season.  Eagles secured the 5ARegion 4 regular season championship with the win and ran region record to 3-0 and overall record to 8-0.  Soddy saw its overall record drop to 3-6 and5A Region 4 District record fall to 1-1.   Dalton Hampton lead the scoring for the Eagles with three touchdowns while gaining 156 yards on 16 carries.  Also scoring for the Eagles were Cooper Ruehling with a touchdown and five extra point kicks, Ethan Davis with a nice 46 yard touchdown run(16 carries for 143 yards) and Kaleb Martin on an 11 yard touchdown run.  Kaleb Martin was 3/10 for 57 yards and Ryan Young had 60 yards on 9 carries.  After a slow start, the Eagles hit all cylinders and scored 38 points after Soddy opened the game with a touchdown drive.  After the initial touchdown, the Eagle defense did not allow another point until the final quarter  to give the final 38-14 margin.  It was nice to get a win against Soddy, who owned the last two wins in the series with too close wins.  Pemberton had won all the previous Soddy games before the two game streak. As norm for this offense, there were almost 400 yards in rushing with 370 yards.  Passing accounted for 57 yards.  On defense Drew Fisher and Austin Bracket led in tackles with 10 and 7.  Eagles had 9 sacks to make life miserable for Soddy's senior quarterbacck Issac Barnes.  In a change from recent games, the Eagles did not need a late comeback as game was secured before the beginning of the 4th quarter with 31-7 lead.  This allowed coach Pemberton to get some valuable experience for the roster. Eagles now prepare for Karns for "Senior Night".  Eagles won 41-14 last year at Karns.  Karns comes in with 2-5 record. Game Stats:
