District Attorney Taylor Seeks Re-Electiion in August

Taylor Has Served As Attorney General for 12th Judicial District Since 1992

Rhea County, TN -- Mike Taylor, District Attorney General for the 12th Judicial District (which consists of Bledsoe, Franklin, Grundy, Marion, Rhea, and Sequatchie counties), is seeking re-election in the August 4, 2022, general election.

"It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of the 12th Judicial District as District Attorney General since 1992," said Taylor.

"I am proud of the accomplishments that have been made during my service as District Attorney General, some of which include:

Creating the first full time, fully staffed D.A.s office in Franklin County;

Doubling the number of Grand Jury Sessions in the three (3) largest counties of this District to speed the handling of Criminal Prosecutions;"

"Staffing the 12th District Drug Court for the handling of serious drug related cases;

Being instrumental in the creation of the District wide Children’s Advocacy Centers which aid in the prosecution of sexually and physically abused children and provide treatment for them;

Creation of the 12th Judicial District Methamphetamine Drug Task Force which has grown into the State-wide Dangerous Drugs Task Force."

Including his service as an Assistant District Attorney and Chief Deputy Assistant D.A., Taylor has forty-two (42) years experience in the prosecution of Criminal Cases. He has also served as the President of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference, and the State-wide Conference Committees on Capital Punishment and Staffing Allocation, as well as the Executive Committees for the District Attorneys General Conference.

"During my years of service, I have prosecuted criminal cases ranging from Public Intoxication to Capital Murder, and have personally tried over one hundred and fifty (150) murder cases before juries in this Judicial District.”

"I thank all the people of this District for their support for me over the years.” said Taylor, and “I am asking the residents and voters of the 12th Judicial District to allow me to keep my years of experience working for them by re-electing me as District Attorney General on August 4th."
