Dayton City Football Season Ended in 2018 by Wartburg 14-12

Dayton, TN -- Dayton City School has not played a football game since October 3rd, and they are well rested and healthy going into their opening playoff game against Wartburg team, that put Harriman out of the playoffs last week.
The offensive power of the Bees in the three headed monster of Rex Pendergrass, Bryce Dupre and Ethan Davis but this a a solid team on offense and defense.
The Sweatbees last action was a dramatice 28-22 win over up-county rival Rhea Middle School, which gave Dayton City School a sweep of the county middle school action this year with their earlier win over Spring City Middle School.
Rhea Middle 22 DCS 28
Rhea Middle took an early lead against DCS 8-0 on a 41 yard Mayberry touchdown. and a two point conversion. Later in the half Bryce Dupre came away with touchdown and Pendergrass scored touchdown. Rhea Middle came back and took 14-6 lead after Martin touchdown and two point conversion by the Eagles.
Later Ace Robinson had big 35 yard run to setup a Ethan Davis 21 yard touchdown for the tie after Bryce Dupre walted into end zone. In second hald Mayberry had interception and Rhea Middle School scored touchdwon for the lead 22-14. Ethan Davis had the touchdown for the tie at 22-22.
At the end of the game, Dayton City came away with fumble recovery and Ethan Davis converted that fumble into 6 points and DCS won 28-22 back on October 3, 2019. Seems like a long time ago.
Remember 2018
The 2018 Dayton City School Sweat Bees lost 14-12 against Wartburg in first round of playoffs in a game they fought back from mistakes to almost pull out a win.
Ethan Davis had a sixty yard run for a score to tie the game at 6-6. DCS extra point was no good.
Dayton City had another touchdown run by Davis, however a penalty erased that score. The Sweat Bees gave up a safety to Wartburg that cost them two points. Wartburg added a touchdown in the fourth quarter to up the score to 14–6 with very little time for the Bees to catch the Bulldogs. Bryce Dupre TD pass to D J Lafuze brought the fans to their feet. With the score standing at Wartburg 14 Dayton City 12, the try for two point conversation failed. Final score was 14–12. Standouts on defense for the Bees were Rex Pendergrass, Kole Smith, Christian Moreno and Cory McKinney.
