Dayton, TN -- Dayton City School football team won 54-0 to open the season at home against Sale Creek Middle School. Datyon City kicked off and Sale Creek turned ball over on initial drive, giving Sweat Bees ball on 23 of Panthers. Dayton City scored in two plays and began a barrage that saw them score 32 points in the first quarter and 16 more in second quarter to put the game away before halftime.

Scoring on the night for the Bees was lead by Ethan Davis and Rex Pendergrass with two touchdowns each. Davis scored on a run and a 20 yard punt return, while Pendergrass scored on a run and a 25 yard pass reception. Also scoring for the Bees were Jake Mickel, Ace Robinson and Emmanuel Martinez. Scoring two point conversions for the Bees were Sam Stumbo, Bryce Dupre, Mickel, and Davis.

Dayton City ran for 130 yards and passed for 28 yards on the night. They also had 20 yards in punt return yardage and did not have any kickoffs returned. Brayden Grimes lead the Bees with 3 tackles and 2 assisted tackles.

On Thursday, Dayton City football travels to Oakdale for a 7:00 pm game.
