Pendergrass lead DCS to 52-36 win over Jefferson

February 2020 Anderson County, TN  --  Dayton City School opened their AA sectional tournament with 52-36 win over Jefferson Middle to move on the post season tournament as they have their eye on a state championship.  With their win, they move on to play Robertsville Middle a team that went unbeaten in district play and tournament play.  Robertsville will have a home advantage as they are from nearby Oak Ridge. Against Jefferson, it was Rex Pendergrass dominating the inside game as he finished with 23 points to lead the Bees.  Kyler Akin had the only two three point baskets and 12 points for DCS.  Close behind was DCS big man Bryce Dupre with 11 points.  Ethan Davis completed the scoring for Dayton with 6 points.  DCS fell behind 16-13 in the first quarter but outscored Jefferson 36-23 the rest of the way.
