TWRA, Town of Spring City, and Watts Bar Lake Association Partner For Event
Spring City, TN -- 5/31/23
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will host the free Chuck Copeland Memorial Fishing Rodeo on June 10, 2023 adjacent to Spring City Veterans park, 448 E. Jackson Avenue in Spring City. Partnering with TWRA will be the Town of Spring City and the Watts Bar Lake Association. The fishing rodeo is named for Chuck Copeland, because the rodeo became his mission in life before his early death from a heart attack in 2004.
Registration Info: Registration will begin at 7 am EST. No one will be allowed in the park before 6:30 am. There will be educational stations for kids to learn. There will also be bait and loaner poles for those that need them. Prizes will be awarded throughout the scheduled event. Refreshments will be provided by the Watts Bar Lake Association during the event.
There is no cost for the event. Event occured on Free Fishing Day in Tennessee. There will be some prizes given out throughout the day associated with fish caught. The lake is stocked for this event with catfish, which makes for some fantastic fishing for the kids. Over the years, the same children came back over and over to the event and some even go on to fish regularly in the beautiful lakes and rivers of Tennessee.
