Charles “Paul” Monday, Jr. passed away on August 9, 2024 He was born on December 2, 1942, at 3:40p.m. in Spring City, Tennessee.  Paul graduated from Spring City High School before joining the Navy in January 1963.  He served in the Navy for four years.  After basic training he served on the USS Sylvania where he received the National Defense Service Medal.

Paul loved to discuss music and Tennessee Volunteer football whenever another Vol fan was around.

Paul had a strong belief in God and loved his bible.  He loved to sing and play the guitar.  He also enjoyed a wide range of music with some of his favorite songs being Silver Springs-Fleetwood Mac, 19th Nervous Breakdown-Rolling Stones, Margaritaville-Alan Jackson, 5 O’clock-Alan Jackson, and Carrol County Accident-Porter Wagner.

He is survived by his sister Marjorie Zimmerman of Spring City, Tennessee and sister-in-law Donna (Hugh) Judd Monday of Sheffield, Alabama, his seven nieces and nephews, six great and five great, great nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Paul Monday, Sr., mother, Albra Evans Monday, and brothers and sisters Hugh Grover Monday, Wanda Monday, Linda Monday and Wendell Monday.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Cecil Bristow officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post #203, P.O. Box 992, Spring City, Tennessee 37381, in his memory.
