Cade Cook Signs With Lee University

Rhea County High School Student Cade Cook had a signing ceremony before friends, family and players on Friday, November 12th.

RCHS Baseball Player Will Continue Education and Athletic Career At Lee

Evensville, TN -- Rhea County High School senior Cade Cook made a decison about his next step as a student and athlete when he signed to play baseball and attend Lee University. Lee University is a private, comprehensive university located in Cleveland, Tennessee. Cade is the son of Jerry and Mandy Cook. Cade plays outfield for the Eagles. Cade has played several sports during his time at Spring City Middle and Rhea County High School, including baseball, basketball and football. Cade still has one season of baseball left in Spring of 2022.

In an interview with Rhea County Magazine, Cade answered a few questions about his decision to attend Lee University.

Why did you choose Lee University?

"It felt like home, I went there and fell in love with everything about it. I really liked the campus, players, facilities and everything else. As soon as I had the opportunity, I made the decsion. As soon as I went, the other schools didn't matter. I plan of majoring in Physical Therapy."

Cade talked about his time playing youth baseball.

"I began playing Dixie Youth Baseball around 3 or 4(as soon as I could pick up a bat). I loved playing for my dad when I was little."

Cade talked about the upcoming season.

"I am ready to play. We have a great bunch of guys. I am hoping to be a leader like the guys who went before me. This team is a great group of guys"

Cade talked about the part his faith played in his life.

"This is all God. None of this would happen without God. I give all glory to Him."

When asked to describe his head coach Rusty Ray, Cade said" He is a role model and always been a role model. He is a leader."

Rhea County High School baseball coach Rusty Ray talked about Cade.

"Cade is the kind of guy that you fall in love week the first week you are around him. He has that easy going demeanor, but is willing to do whatever it takes. He has really worked hard and done a lot of good things. Cade is a man of character. Your character is what defines you as a man."

"It is now time(after his senior season) to turn him over to Lee University. This is a big chance for Cade to play for Lee."
