RCHS Basketball wins over Cumberland County 88-51; Lady Eagles Drop Game to Cumberland: Rhea Host Loudon on Tuesday

Rhea County High School basketball used an excellent shooting night by senior Bryce Dupre to win. Bryce hit on an amazing 8 for 12 from 3-point range, making 6 three-point baskets in the first half, while the Eagles were pushing their lead to 49-29 halftime lead on the way to the 88-51 win for Rhea County. Eight Eagles made the scorebook on the night with Braylon Geer and Kyler Akin scoring 14 and Caleb Carr scoring 10 to join Dupre in double figures. Kyler Akin had 9 assists on the night and the team accumulated 21 assists. Turnover were low with only 9 turnovers committed by the Eagles. The entire Eagles team had great shooting night with 21-28 performance from 2-point range and 13-32 from 3-point range.

Cumberland 50 Rhea 26

Lady Eagles dropped their game to Cumberland County 50-26. Sydney Wilhite led Cumberland with 22 points. Lakyn Lockhart and Raylee Fuller each scored 7 points to lead the Lady Eagles. Also scoring for Rhea were: Cammie Ruelhling 4, Allie Shaver 2, Jenna Burchard 4 and Jetta Sharp 2. Also scoring for Cumberland County were: Lauren Clark 12, Aliyah Hawkins 8, and Jalynn Baldwin 8.

Eagles host Loudon on Tuesday night with 7:30 tip after the Lady Eagle tipoff at 6;00 pm.
