Bobby Dean Hancock, Sr., age 79 of Sale Creek, passed away at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was born in Dayton on November 21, 1945, the son of the late Floyd and Cora (Shadwick) Hancock. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Hancock, Jr.; and his siblings, Floyd Hancock, Jr., Charles Hancock, Helen Montgomery, Joby Morgan, Judy Kaylor and Betty Keltch.
Bobby retired as a supervisor from Robinson Manufacturing, where he was employed for over 40 years. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and mowing the lawn, and was a member of Sale Creek Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Laura (McSpadden) Hancock of Sale Creek; his daughter, Angie (Rick) Headlee of Dayton; his step-children, Jason (Cathy) Gentry and Beth (Jeff) Keylon, both of Sale Creek, and Becky (Jeff) Runyan of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Daniel (Brandy) Headlee of Dayton, Nicole (Dylan) Smith of Dayton, Jessica Hancock and Paige Hancock, both from Florida; his step-grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Keylon of Dayton, Madeline (Andrew) Henry of Chattanooga, and Michael Runyan and Matthew Runyan, both of Fort Wayne, IN; his great-grandchildren, Audrey Headlee and Robert Headlee; his siblings, Billy Ray (Brenda) Hancock of Graysville, and Gladys (Rick) Clark of Pikeville; several nieces and nephews; and his great-grandbunny, Cinnamon.
Funeral services for Buddy will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Terry Bolton, Rev. Quinton Carter and his step-daughter, Beth Keylon officiating. He will be laid to rest at Rigsby Cemetery.
