Lawrence Lee Brady Obituary

August 11, 1946 - July 3, 2024

Lawrence Lee Brady 78 of Grandview, Tennessee went toward the light on July 3, 2024.

He was born April 11, 1946 to Albert Junior Brady and Bobby Lee Flatts Brady. Lawrence and his wife Betty Ann Gilliam Brady loved and annoyed each other for 51 years. This Country Cowboy loved horses, cowboy hats, fast cars and motorcycles. He was a good ole boy from the South with a good mix of manners, humor, wit and mischief. In his younger days, he was known for stirring up trouble around town. He was medically discharged from the Army, but was a widely skilled man and a jack-of-all-trades. He built houses, baby cradles, furniture and cars with his bare hands and enjoyed every minute of it. For many years Lawrence was a truck driver and traveled through most of the United States and Canada and he could handle a rig like a pro. He carried a gun 100% of the time. Matter of fact, he had a gun in his pocket, in his car and under his pillow at all times. Lawrence always had a story or joke to tell and you never knew what was coming next. His stories were detailed and intriguing and his jokes had you wondering what just happened, was that real or not? The man could bake the best pumpkin pie, peach cobbler and Thanksgiving dressing you have ever tasted, but his favorite meal was bologna sandwiches or beans and cornbread. There wasn't anyone he wouldn't help if they needed it.

He was a father of two and stepfather of eight with 19 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Children: Lawrence Lee Brady II (Terri), Robbie Webb, Billie Joan Brady. Step-Children: Wesley Eugene McDonald, Anna Delphine Bennett, Linda Kaye Dupree, Joyce Mae Nicola, Freida Gayle McDonald, Teresa Jane McDonald, Jamie Denise Gentry, Cora Sue Guthrie. Sisters, Sandy Sims and Linda Horton of Grandview; Brothers, Billie Joe Brady of Dayton (deceased), Jerry Brady of Mississippi (deceased); Grandchildren: Chris Brady (Janet), Eric Burum, Gregory Brady, Brandon Wolfe, Hope Yoder, Melissa Yoder, Wayne Yoder and Sean Yoder (Shelby). Grandchildren by marriage: Tamra Dean, Jada Burke, Jerry Gray, Chrissy McKinney, Donald Craig Bennett, Tiffany Durham, Steven Ryan Jones, Eric Shane Jones, Gentry Kyle Jones, Derek Miglia, Amanda Paige Finchum.

Lawrence would like for you to know his final thoughts: One time I was walking through a cemetery and looked at a tombstone that said “mama loved Papa, and Papa loved women, mama caught Papa with 2 girls swimming, here lies Papa.”
