Lady Eagles Begin Play Well in PreSeason Scrimmages: Return Strong Core for 2024
While it is still very early, it looks like the Rhea Middle School girls soccer team is headed for another strong season. With four scrimmages complete and a record of 4-0 the girl’s hard work this summer is paying off.
This team is made up of players from DCS, Rhea Middle, Spring City and the home school program. With a strong core of returning, talented players and great additions since last season the team might be the strongest one yet.
The preseason opener saw the Eagles JV against Chilhowee Varsity team with the Eagles coming out on top 9-3. Brynn Fitzgerald scored four goals and Tessa LeBlanc scored 3. In the second preseason matchup the JV girls again stood tall against a young Sale Creek Varsity team, who are only in their second season. Brynn Fitzgerald was again the high scorer with three goals.
On Tuesday the Eagles traveled to Sweetwater to play against a much improved team that has grown to include a JV squad. Annalee Willis led the varsity scoring with three goals and in the JV game Glory McKinney slotted home three goals.
