Corinne Julia Takacs, age 87 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at her home. She was born in Howell, MI, on October 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Street) Story. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence William Smith.

Corinne was employed as an office manager for multiple family businesses, and a care giver for special needs family members. She was a member of Grace Bible Church.

She is survived by her five children, Darlene (Dr. Jeff) Bruehl of Dayton, Lawrence William (Kathy) Smith II, and Daniel Gordon Smith, both of Okeechobee, FL, Diane Kay (Eric) Everett, and Bret (Cynthia) Smith, both of Pinckney, MI; her two sisters, Frances Raatikka of Deland, MI, and Marian Buckner of Bear Lake, MI; her brother, Robert Story, Jr. of Bear Lake, MI; and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She will be entombed next to her husband in Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor, MI.
