September 19, 2019
Evensville, TN -- Rhea County hosts Lenoir City tonight with 7:30 pm kickoff. Homecoming Festivities will begin at 7 pm tonight. Rhea County will look to pick up another Region win as they look to pick up a # 1 seed for post season.
Gone are two of the principles for last year. Both quarterback Zack Pemberson(3 touchdowns) and Gabe Williams. Pemberton picked up player of the year and Williams picked up offensive player of the year in post season awards. Pemberton scored three touchdowns last year as Eagles came back from down 7-0 in the first half to score three touchdowns from there on to win 21-7. Jacob Stringfellow had a big stop on fourth down sack to keep Panthers out of the end zone in that game.
Rhea County will look to ride the running of Jackson Langley and Dalton Hampton tonight as together they have accumulated over 800 yards in three games. Kyle Carr, who has matured over the three games and provided a passing threat to keep defensives guessing but they still know the running game is where Rhea County will excel.
Bradley Goodwin will lead the defense and this team with 23 seniors will look to win this game. Already this season this team has looked more aggressive and harder hitting than in past years and fans are looking for big things from the Eagles.
This year Seniors Bradley Goodwin, Avery Alday and Jacob Stringfellow have led the way on defense for the Eagles. The trio of sophomore defensive backs, Jadden Pankey, Sir Alloway and Gavin Roddy had been improving eacch game and have made some big plays for the defense.
