Rhea vs Stone Memorial: The game against Stone Memorial was plagued by turnovers and missed flag pulls against a high quality opponent. While we had a couple bright spots, it was a rough night for the Lady Eagles, losing 55-0.
Stone vs Bledsoe: The second game of the night saw more of the same as Stone boat raced Bledsoe County 42-0.
Rhea vs Bledsoe: Rhea's game against Bledsoe was a much better contest. After failing their fourth and goal attempt early in the first half, a busted play from Rhea County let Bledsoe take a 6-0 lead that they would carry into halftime. The Lady Eagle defense held strong for the rest of the game, not surrendering a single point in regulation and only allowing two first downs. With 34 seconds remaining in the contest, Junior QB Katie Tennyson carried the ball 24 yards into the end zone to tie the game 6-6. The conversion failed, and Bledsoe was unable to score before time expired, sending the two teams into OT. Both teams had 2 chances at converting an extra point and failed before Bledsoe scored in the third overtime period. The Lady Eagles couldn’t match the score, and fell 7-6 in a game that was nail-biter from start to finish
