June 23, 1938 - March 10, 2025

June (Smith) Kyle, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on March 10, 2025. A lifelong resident of Rhea County, Tennessee, June was a cherished member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Dayton for 60 years, where she was known as the oldest lady in the congregation.

For 35 years, she served the Rhea County School District as a cook in the cafeteria, where she was beloved by students and staff alike for her kindness and dedication.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay Smith and Melody Hill Smith; her husband, Thomas David Kyle; her son, David Howard Kyle; and her siblings, Sudie Lowe, Margaret Holloway, Henrietta Suttles, Elzie Gibson, and H.C. Smith.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Ron) Kyle McGainey, Melodie (Don) Johnson, and Tonnie Kyle; six grandchildren, Kyle Caraway, Randy Harris, Mackie Kyle, April (Darryl) Allison, Trey Johnson (Stephanie), and Alex Johnson (Greg); three great-grandchildren, Lainey Caraway, Case Caraway, and Emma Zigler; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Brother Clyde Fitzgerald and Brother Kenny Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Clear Creek Baptist Church, 3553 Smyrna Road, Dayton, TN 37321.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Adorations Hospice for the wonderful care June received in the final months of her life.

Her warmth, compassion, and faithfulness will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
