May 28, 1974 ~ November 3, 2024
James Edwin Ward, 50, of Dayton, TN was released from his battle with epilepsy and mental health problems on November 3, 2024, and is now free and healed with Jesus.
Jim was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on May 28, 1974. He grew up in Kansas before moving to Tennessee in 1997, where he spent the rest of his life. Jim was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard.
He was a phenomenal drummer and music flowed through his veins. His sense of humor was second to none and he made us laugh like no one else. He was a great friend, a fantastic uncle, and the best brother.
Jim is survived by his wife, best friend, and partner of 10 years, Jordan Akin Ward, who knew the first time she heard his Chewbacca impression that she was going to marry him. She can’t wait to hear him say “hey kid” when they meet again. He leaves behind two children from a previous marriage, Fenix and Detric, who he always loved very much. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Jones; brothers and sisters: Kenneth (Kim) Ward, Tim Ward, and Jake (Amber) Goins; father-in-law, Glenn “Red” Akin; nieces and nephews: Mia, Ceci, and Aven Ward, Wyatt and Beckett Goins; and so many other people who loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 6:00pm. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm before service time.
