2023 Rhea Middle Volleyball Holds 8th Grade Night

Rhea Middle Wins over Meigs County on 8th Grade Night

Evensville, TN -- Rhea Middle held 8th grade night at home vs Meigs County Middle on Monday, 2/27/23. Seven different players were recognized. Recognized 8th graders were: Kahliyah Rogers, Kindale Rumer, Brinley and Rolley Thurman, Emerson White, Lyla Day and Cattie Scoggins(not present). After 8th grade ceremony, the varsity team won both games against Meigs to take the match.

The Rhea Middle roster: # 6 Thurman Brinley, # 13 Rolley Thurman, # 12 Kahliyah Rogers, # 2 Lyla Day, # 15 Emerson White, # 11 Kindale Rumer, # 19 Landree Brown and # 23 Abigayle Kelley.

Junior Varsity Roster: # 16 Adi Winegar, # 19 Landree Brown, # 23 Abigayle Kelly, # 17 Jessa Roberts, # 8 Tyler Hughes, # 37 Bella Peaveyhouse, # 9 Emilyah Dodd, # and 22 Aisley Hall.

Rhea Middle broke away from 6-4 lead early to an 11-4 lead, but Meigs came back to make it a game at 22-17, but held on for the 25-18 win. In the second game, it was very competitive and stood at 9-9 at around midpoint. The Lady Eagles pushed their lead up to 16-10 later in the game. The Lady Tigers closed the gap to 18-16 and then took lead at 21-18 and 23-20. With some great serving by Kindale Rumer the Lady Eagles came storming back for the 26-24 win. Kindale had several aces(4) during her serve. For the match she had 13 points scored on her serve. Rolley Thurman had 10 points scored on her serve and had 3 aces. Brinley Thurman also had 10 points on serve with one ace. Junior Varsity won 25-7 and 25-15 to complete the sweep. Jessica Roberts had 16 points scored on serve and Bella Peavyhouse had 8 with 3 aces. Landry Brown also had 8 points on serve with 2 aces.
