Moore Scores 4 Goals As Eagles Drop Stone Memorial 7-0 To Push Record to 6-0

Evensville, TN - 3/28/23

Rhea County continued their unbeaten season, with a 7-0 win rival Stone Memorial on Tuesday night at Home on Bill Horton field. Andrew Moore scored four goals for Rhea on offense. Also scoring goals were Brandon Bishop, Brandon Sanchez, and Sean Norman. Brandon lead the assist tally on the night with 3 assists. Also assisting on goals were Brandon Bishop and Michael Truax.

Head Coach Justin Smith offered some comments on the season. "It has been an exciting start to the season for us. We have a really talented group of boys that work hard for each other, and that has shown in every game. Out of our 6 games we have played, four of those opponents were luck of the draw (three at the Smoky Mountain Cup, and one at the Ronald Mezime Memorial Cup), one team we tied last year, and another we lost to last year."

"So to be 6-0 going into district play is a great accomplishment and is very encouraging, and is a testament to the amount of work the guys have put in. In regards to winning the Smoky Mountain Cup, you just never know what's going to happen there! But our boys played hard, were disciplined, and won all three games to sweep our division. That's the first time we've won that tournament and hopefully it is a sign of good things to come for this team."

"We kickoff district play tonight at Mcminn, which is a very important game to see where we are at in the district. Our team culture is healthy, the boys are working hard and are locked in, and we have a lot of talent. We are excited to see what this season holds!"
